The second podcast from Salt and Light finds Mamie and Jack just about to move into their first home together, one and a half rooms in a shared house. They spend Christmas 1921 with their hosts, Dr and Mrs Turner, enjoying a delicious meal together. Mamie’s description of the Christmas service in Kasangazi shows her emerging love and respect for the local people. She is also very proud of Jack’s progress in the Chitonga language. After only six weeks in Africa, he takes part of the church service in Chitonga, to the delight of his congregation.
