Become a Supporter

If you have an interest in the education of girls in Malawi, we welcome you to become a Supporter of the Mamie Martin Fund. You do not need to make a donation in order to become a Supporter, all you need to do is fill in this simple form.

Mamie Martin Fund

By doing so, you will be kept regularly up to date with our work, as well as receive an invitation to attend our Annual General Meeting and other events that we organise.

Whether you raise £10 or £1,000, every penny raised for the Mamie Martin Fund goes a long way to support the education of girls in Malawi.

Our wee (and our not-so-wee) supporters of girls’ education in Malawi will cycle the ‘Wee Jaunts’ on 6 May in Falkirk (7.5 miles) and 9 Sept Linlithgow to Edinburgh (10 miles). Both routes are flattish, traffic-free and family-friendly.

We partner with the Soko Fund to provide university scholarships for Mamie Martin Fund beneficiaries. The total cost for each girl (school and university) is £3,300.

That’s our target for this project!

Want to get involved? Ride with us, wear a tee-shirt and/or sponsor us via our fundraising page:

He’d be pleased to see you or hear from you – ian.g.baxter@mac.com

Organise an Event

Events are a great way to raise money – whether you would like to organise a musical concert, or host a dinner party in aid of the Mamie Martin Fund, we can provide you with advice, assist you in promotion, and send a representative to speak at your event. You can set up a personal event on BTMyDonate and link it to the Mamie Martin Fund page or get in touch if you’d like us to help you plan something another way.

Alternative Giving

Are you getting married soon, or perhaps have a milestone birthday to celebrate, and would like to encourage your family & friends to donate to charity instead of giving you gifts? Get in touch to let us know, and in return we will post a thank you on our Blog.

You can find some resources to help you raise funds on our Downloads page.

Leave a Legacy

By remembering the Mamie Martin Fund in your will, you will be helping us to continue supporting the education of girls in Malawi for years to come.

If you would like more information, please get in touch.

Gift Aid

For every £1 that you donate to the Mamie Martin Fund, Her Majesty’s Revenue & Customs will add an extra 25p, at no extra cost to you. All you have to do is complete the Gift Aid section of our Supporter sign up form at the top of this page to confirm that you are a UK taxpayer.

We are always grateful for the help of volunteers. If you have a particular skill that you think may be useful, experience of Malawi, or would like to learn more about what we do by getting involved as a volunteer, please get in touch.

Previous volunteers have helped us with web development, marketing, financial management, and schools partnerships.

Please note that we do not offer overseas volunteer placements.

Join the Board

If you are interested in joining our Board of Trustees, please get in touch for more information.

If you do not have the time to commit to volunteering, raising funds, or organising an event, becoming a regular donor of the Mamie Martin Fund is a great way to help us to continue supporting the education of girls in Malawi.
