Why girl-child education matters

Facebooktwitter

In this short video, our coordinator in Malawi, Mercy Sibande, shares her views on why girls’ education matters so much in Malawi, and why our work is vital to the country. She outlines the ways in which ‘your mind is opened up’ by education and how important an education is for women in terms of their ability to make decisions at family, community and national level.

‘”When you educate a girl she will desire her kids to be educated too …. she is the mother of the nation. When you educate a girl, you educate the whole nation. For our nation to develop we need to be serious in girl-child education.”
